    NSF grant to model the regional climate effects of the snow albedo feedback in the Rocky Mountains: Analyzed regional climate model output from the WRF model, wrote new subroutines for WRF and Noah, performed high-level data analysis via Yellowstone cluster supercomputer.     NSF grant to model the effects of aerosol pollutants on orographic snowfall in the Rocky Mountains: Performed simulations using the WRF-Chemistry model, analyzed aerosol observations from the IMPROVE network, wrote new subroutines and modules to the RAMS atmospheric model.     Performed day-to-day operations at the weather observatory on the summit of Mount Washington. Took hourly weather measurements; installed, calibrated and maintained instruments in severe conditions, prepared and delivered regional and higher summits forecasts for recreational users via local radio and internet, and led daily public tours of the observatory.

  • Ontario winter Lake-Effect Systems (OwLES)
    University at Albany | Tug Hill Plateau: 2013-2014
    Comprehensive investigation by NOAA, NSF, and several research institutions to examine lake-effect storm characteristics downwind of Lake Ontario: Set up, maintained, collected, and analyzed data from a series of vertical-profiling radars, launched radiosondes, measured and analyzed snow accumulations, kept instruments functional in extreme winter weather. Published in Monthly Weather Review.

  • Verification of Rotation in Tornadoes Experiment (VORTEX2)
    SUNY Oswego | Nebraska, etc.: 2009
    Collaborative investigation of severe thunderstorm and tornado formation under auspices of NOAA, NSF, and several research institutions: Launched radiosondes in the pre-storm environment, participated in daily weather briefings.
